The Werklund School of Education, Undergraduate Programs, at the University of Calgary invites applications for a term certain Sessional Instructor position for Spring 2026.

Course Title:
EDUC 313: Starting with Story Teaching and Learning with Indigenous Literatures
Delivery Mode: Web-Based (Synchronous)
Schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays, 3:00 - 4:30 PM

Course Description:
With Indigenous literary arts as a doorway into engaging with Indigenous knowledge systems, languages, and communities, this course examines key texts, contexts, and theories to consider applications in educational settings.

Term Dates:

Position Requirements:

A completed Master's degree or Doctorate in Education is preferred; professionals with a Bachelor's degree will also be considered.
Five years of teaching experience at the K-12 level preferred.
A strong commitment to Indigenous education and inclusive teaching practices.
Understanding of or lived experience with Indigenous knowledge systems and communities is an asset.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with school and community partners.
Evidence of reflective practice, ongoing professional development, and effective communication skills.
Familiarity with the undergraduate program in Education and inquiry-based learning is considered an asset.
