Job Description
Your main responsibilities will include:
Assisting customers with their inquiries and providing exceptional customer service
Operating the cash register and handling transactions accurately
Stocking shelves and ensuring the store is clean and presentable
Assisting with inventory management, including receiving and unpacking merchandise
Providing product recommendations and assisting customers in finding their desired items
Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
Performing other tasks as required to maintain the smooth operation of the store
Requirements
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a customer-facing busy retail, convenience store, or FMCG environment
Experience handling cashier machines, EFTPOS or POS systems
Good communication skills to interact clearly with customers and suppliers
Basic math skills for cash handling and stock control
Ability to lift up to 20kg for inventory management and stand for extended periods
Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
Must be available for early morning, evening, weekend, and rotating roster shifts
Must be reliable, trustworthy, and able to follow security procedures
Ability to work independently and take responsibility for the shop during shifts
Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test, ongoing random drug testing may apply as part of our health and safety policy.
Reference checks required and police vetting will be conducted.
