Description:
A Silk Screen Printer Machine Operator sets up, maintains, and operates automatic and manual printing presses to apply designs onto fabric.
Key Responsibilities :
Setup and Operation: Read work orders to determine specifications, load screens, and adjust machine settings, such as ink reservoirs and pressure.
Production: Operate manual or automatic screen printing presses to apply designs onto various materials.
Pre-press & Preparation: Prepare, burn, and expose screens, and clean screens (reclaiming) after use.
Ink Management: Mix inks to achieve specific colors and ensure proper consistency.
Quality Control: Inspect finished products to verify alignment, color accuracy, and quality, making adjustments as necessary.
Maintenance: Clean equipment, replace worn parts, and maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace.
Required Skills and Qualifications;
Technical Skills: Experience with automatic or manual screen-printing machinery and ability to read blueprints or technical specifications.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in color matching, registration, and quality checking.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, handle materials manually, and perform repetitive motions.
Troubleshooting: Ability to identify and resolve issues with inks, screens, or machine performance.
Communication: Ability to work well within a team and communicate production progress. Must be bilingual (French and English)
Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in the same field. Completion of a specialized printing courses can be beneficial
Typical Working Conditions :
Environment: Warehouse setting, often involving exposure to inks and solvents.
Physical Requirements: Standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
