About the role
We’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Site Services Officer to play a key role in managing construction activity across Melbourne’s public spaces.
In this dynamic position, you’ll be responsible for reviewing and issuing Space Occupancy and Out of Hours Permits, ensuring construction works meet safety and amenity standards. Your work will help maintain compliance with key legislation and guidelines, including the Local Government Act, Activities Local Law 2024, Building Act 1993, Road Management Act 2004, and more.
This role involves regular consultation with internal and external stakeholders to ensure construction activities are well-coordinated, safe, and aligned with city regulations. Your contribution will directly support Melbourne’s reputation as a well-managed, vibrant, and liveable city.

About you
You’re a detail-oriented professional with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. You have experience in permit systems, general administration, and delivering excellent customer service. Your ability to navigate complex regulations and collaborate effectively ensures construction activities are safe, compliant, and well-managed.
You may also be:
Proven ability to deliver quality services in a range of environments including desk based tasks utilising property based permit information systems, liaising with owners, developers, builders and general stakeholders.
Proven written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated abilities in general administration
Demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service.
