Mo te tunga | About the role
The Prevention Team at Police National Headquarters is seeking a Senior Advisor to join the Health Partnerships Team. The primary focus of the role is the development of strategies and initiatives and working with our partners across the Motu in the Health space to bring closer cross-sector alignment and help with strategic direction.
Being a small team, we are very agile frequently helping each other on workstreams, and you will find yourself supporting and developing an array of work, including things like the development and implementation of various projects to support their successful implementation with Districts, along with long term strategic thinking, planning and documentation, and smaller, shorter-term projects.
We're looking for someone who is good at fostering and maintaining partnerships and using these skills to develop and maintain strategic alliances with key partners.
Knowledge of Police systems and process is an advantage, but not essential.
The most important assets you will bring will be innovative thinking and your ability to collaborate well in a dynamic team and combine these to bring to the table a well thought out position.
Key Accountabilities:
Contribute to the development of Prevention strategies and initiatives that meet the needs of our community.
Work within the Prevention Team (Health Partnerships) to identify and understand current and emerging issues and to help develop effective partnerships and strategies to reduce and prevent harm.
Work across the sector to help increase the effectiveness of the Police response in the mental health and broader health space with the aim to reduce demand on Police but to still ensure persons in distress get a response they expect and deserve.
Seek out and develop opportunities for Police to collaborate with others to understand and develop and manage workstreams to help resolve any identified problem areas, or prospects for positive growth.
