Summary:
The SMO Lead is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive social media optimization strategy to enhance the visibility, engagement, and reach of our news website across various social media platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of the latest trends in social media, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive traffic and user engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Development and Implementation:
Develop and execute a comprehensive SMO strategy aligned with the overall marketing objectives and editorial calendar.
Identify target audience segments and tailor content and campaigns accordingly.
Keep abreast of emerging trends and technologies in social media to stay ahead of the curve.
Content Planning and Creation:
Collaborate with content creators and editors to ensure that social media content is aligned with the website's editorial direction.
Create engaging and shareable content (including images, videos, infographics, etc.) for social media platforms.
Maintain a content calendar and schedule posts for optimal reach and engagement.
Platform Management:
Oversee and manage all social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
Monitor platform-specific analytics and adapt strategies to maximize performance.
Stay up-to-date with algorithm changes and adjust tactics accordingly.
Community Engagement:
Foster a sense of community and interaction among the website's audience on social media platforms.
Respond promptly to comments, messages, and feedback.
Leverage user-generated content and encourage user participation.
Performance Analysis and Reporting:
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as reach, engagement, click-through rates, and conversion rates.
Generate regular reports to measure the effectiveness of SMO efforts and make data-driven recommendations for improvement
Collaboration and Communication:
Communicate SMO goals, initiatives, and performance to the broader team and stakeholders.
Stay Compliant and Ethical:
Ensure all social media activities comply with relevant industry regulations, copyright laws, and ethical guidelines.
Ability to multitask, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
