Job Description
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in social studies, history, geography, and related subjects
• Utilize a variety of teaching methods, including multimedia tools and learning technology, to enhance student understanding and participation
• Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing and project-based assessments
• Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and active participation among students
• Provide individualized support through tutoring or mentoring to help students achieve their academic goals
• Incorporate research skills, literacy education, and critical analysis into lessons to deepen understanding of social sciences
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and school-wide initiatives to improve educational outcomes
• Strong knowledge of social studies content areas such as history, civics, geography, and economics
• Expertise in curriculum development and instructional design tailored to diverse learner needs
• Proficiency in AP style writing, copy editing, proofreading, and adherence to the Chicago Manual of Style for academic materials
• Experience with learning technology platforms and integrating digital tools into classroom instruction
• Excellent communication skills for effective instruction, classroom management, and parent engagement
• Demonstrated ability in classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
• Background in higher education teaching or private school experience is preferred
• Skills in research methodologies, library services integration, and standardized testing preparation
• Knowledge of special education practices or Montessori methods is a plus
• Organizational skills necessary for lesson planning, instructional coordination, and educational administration
