Special Requirements A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required

Social Workers are licensed professionals who provide case management services to children, families, vulnerable adults with intellectual, developmental, physical disabilities, serious mental illness, and older adults (collectively referred to as "vulnerable adults") and other individuals within local communities and institutions.

Social Worker 3's perform advanced journey level case management services in child protective services, foster care, adoptions, adult protective services, and/or guardianships. The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is recruiting for multiple Social Worker 3 positions in Carson City, Nevada. This recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur in the following program: Adult Protective Services (APS).

The social workers within ADSD may support Nevada's frail older adults and people with physical disabilities to remain independent in the community and prevent long term care placements. Additionally, be responsible for assisting vulnerable adults, age 18 to 5+, in addition to persons 60 years and older who are abused, neglected, exploited, isolated, or abandoned by investigating, providing, or arranging for services to alleviate and prevent further maltreatment while safeguarding their civil liberties. ADSD provides an atmosphere of innovative thinking, teamwork, friendly co-workers, and provides a positive working environment. The mission of ADSD is to provide leadership and advocacy in the planning, development, and delivery of a high quality, comprehensive support service system across the lifespan to allow all of Nevada's elders, children, and adults with disabilities or special health care needs, to live independent, meaningful, and dignified lives to the greatest extent possible.
