About the Position:
We’re on the hunt for an experienced backend Software Developer who thoroughly enjoys writing and reviewing code. We hire talented, passionate, quality engineers, who care about code quality and end user satisfaction. • This position is a 100% U.S. based remote opportunity that can be based in one of the following states AL, AZ, CT, DE, FL, GA, KY, MA, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI.
Some travel for team meetings and training may be required. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide sponsorship at this time.
Key Responsibilities: (What you'll be asked to do)
• Ability to write and review high-quality code in our back end and database technologies (C#, .NET, MSSQL).
• Take ownership of assigned features which includes shepherding projects through production release while partnering with QA and business stakeholders to ensure everything is correct.
• Partner with our internal teams (underwriting, finance, customer experience, etc.) to fix, improve, and develop our products.
• Communicate complex concepts and negotiate (nicely) with others to adopt and appreciate different points of view.
The Successful Candidate: (What we're looking for)
• You come to us with in-depth, hands-on experience with key components of Swyfft's tech stack as mentioned above.
• You’re a do-er. In other words, you know how to get stuff done!
• Both internal (your peers) and external clients commend your excellent communication skills and the timeliness of your follow-up skills.
• You are comfortable working independently or in a team orientated environment.
• You are no stranger to the world of remote work. In other words, you were doing this “remote work thing” before Covid.
• You’re the epitome of a tried-and-true technologist. When you’re not coding, you’re researching the latest technologies and self-learning platforms, listening to podcasts, or building your own robot.
Some Requirements: (What you’ll need to be successful)
• 5+ years of experience working as a backend developer.
• Fluent in .NET, C#, and MSSQL.
• Previous experience with a P&C insurance company is a plus.
Education:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience is required.
Computer Skills:
• Experience with TypeScript and React is a plus.
• We’re a MS Office environment (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience using video and chat technology (MSTeams & Slack).
Other:
• Reliable high-speed internet connectivity required.
• Designated quiet work from home space.
