Job Roles and Responsibilities
• Design and develop electro-mechanical systems and components
• Create detailed layout drawings and prototypes using CAD tools
• Perform structural analysis including stress, load, and fatigue calculations
• Develop and maintain detailed part drawings, assemblies, and bill of materials
• Work on enclosure design for thermal and airflow management
• Support engine integration including control systems and performance monitoring
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve technical and product-related issues
• Analyze and test designs to determine optimal materials and processes
• Research and evaluate new technologies for product improvement
• Troubleshoot complex engineering problems with a hands-on approach
• Contribute to continuous improvement in product design and engineering processes
Qualifications and Certifications
• Extensive experience in mechanical design, including sheet metal, tubing, and structural components
• Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD
• Experience with electro-mechanical systems and component selection
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and components
• Understanding of engine systems, controls, and performance monitoring
• Familiarity with electrical layouts and power systems
• Experience with renewable energy systems such as solar and battery integration is a plus
• Knowledge of engineering standards and codes is preferred
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives

What You Get To Do
• Support motor and sensor selection, development, and integration efforts on our Poseidon robots, enabling both current and next-gen deployments
• Write software to interface directly with hardware that improves robot behavior, user safety, and system efficiency
• Design and implement automated testing and diagnostic frameworks for robotic components, supporting reliable operation in the field, manufacturing, and R&D
• Analyze metrics and investigate failure modes observed in the field or at our in-house test room
• Develop highly reliable, maintainable, and testable code
• Collaborate closely with our highly multidisciplinary team spanning mechanical, electrical, field, and software to deliver a robust robotic system!
What You Will Need
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field
• Experience owning a project in C++ or Python from development to production
• Desire to learn new technologies and to apply them to solve real-world challenges
• Break down complex technical concepts – communicate them clearly to different audiences
• Loves learning new technologies and applying them to solve real-world challenges
• Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional setting
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
