Job description
Envision Racing is a UK based Formula E Team competing in the FIA Formula E World Championship and seeks a qualified and experienced Software Engineer to be employed full time. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to thrive in this challenging yet highly rewarding role.

Software Engineer – Formula E Team
• Reporting to a Senior Engineer and working within the Software Engineering group, this role will have responsibility to improve the on-track performance of the Team’s racing operations through in-house software development.
• Develop and maintain the Team’s custom off-car software tools, to improve the work efficiency, accuracy and decision making of the race team.

Requirements for the position:
• BSc or MSc degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience designing reliable and multi-threaded applications.
• Proficiency in Python and Pythonic idioms.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and HTML.
• Computer science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle: coding standards, code reviews, source control management and testing.
• Advantageous experience: Vue.js, GraphQL, FastAPI, MongoDB, C#, .NET
• Availability to support DevOps with knowledge in Kubernetes and database systems.
• A natural desire to work within the motorsport industry, and basic knowledge about it.

Desired skills:
• 2+ years of non-internship professional software engineering experience.
• 1+ year of experience contributing to the architecture, design, patterns, and reliability of new and current systems.
• A proven ability to work to tight deadlines in a group or alone and remain calm under pressure.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and multicultural environment.
• Self-motivation with a will to contribute to the end goal.

This position is based at Silverstone in our purpose-built workshop with free onsite parking and surrounded by forests and with an onsite gym to unwind during breaks.
