Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future.
Downer Professional Services is comprised of two business units, our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer, a major service partner to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security.
We are seeking to engage Solutions Architects in Canberra to join our permanent workforce.
What You’ll Do
This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:
Developing and maintain a comprehensive mission thread collection plan.
Work in conjunction with other the Support and Technical teams to develop Standard Operating Procedures and Knowledge Based Articles.
Analyse and document business/functional processes and requirements using standard analysis methodologies and tools.
Deliver presentations to Defence and defence industry stakeholders on the Mission Thread body of work and uses.
Provide input to the ongoing design/development of the Mission Thread Database.
Lead workshops and working groups to collect information to generate mission threads.
What You’ll Bring
Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within the Defence or professional services industries.
A natural ability to build trusted relationships with team members, customers, and partners.
Previous experience in Military writing and SOPs
Previous experience supporting projects in a government or Defence organisation. You’ll love process, coordination, and being in an environment that encourages collaboration and teamwork.
A strong track record in liaising with resources to ensure services are delivered for current and future demand.
Strong communication skills, and you’ll also be an analytical thinker who loves solving complex problems.
Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
