Objectives of this role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Solution Architect specializing in Orchestration to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of experience in IT architecture and solution design, with a deep understanding of orchestration technologies and practices. This role involves leading complex projects, designing scalable solutions, and working closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and efficiency in our orchestration processes.

Responsibilities

· Lead the design and development of comprehensive orchestration solutions that align with business goals and technology strategies.

· Create high-level architectural specifications, ensuring feasibility, functionality, and integration with existing systems.

· Oversee and guide the implementation of orchestration projects from inception to completion, ensuring milestones are met and deliverables are of the highest quality.

· Coordinate with project managers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of projects.

· Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies related to orchestration and automation.

· Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance our orchestration capabilities.

· Work closely with business leaders, IT teams, and external partners to understand requirements and translate them into effective orchestration solutions.

· Provide mentorship and guidance to junior architects and technical teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

· Develop and enforce best practices and standards for orchestration architecture and solution design.

· Conduct regular reviews and audits of existing orchestration solutions to ensure they meet performance, scalability, and security standards.

· Maintain detailed documentation of architectures, designs, and implementations.

· Prepare and present regular reports on the status and performance of orchestration projects and solutions to senior management.

Preferred Skill Set

Primary

· Orchestration Platforms: Kubernetes, OpenStack, Docker Swarm, VMware vRealize, and AWS CloudFormation

· Automation: Ansible, Puppet, Chef, and Terraform

· Cloud Computing: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and hybrid cloud environments

· Infrastructure as Code (IaC): IaC tools and practices to define and provision infrastructure using code

· Networking: Network architectures, protocols, and services

· Security: Security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption

· System Architecture: Designing and implementing large-scale, complex system architectures

Secondary

· Programming & Scripting: Python, Go, Bash, and PowerShell

· Monitoring & Logging: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, and Splunk

· DevOps Practices: CI/CD, agile development, and continuous monitoring

· Database Management: SQL and NoSQL, and their orchestration and management

· Project Management: Agile, Scrum, or Kanban

· Vendor & Stakeholder Management

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience.

· Over 15 years of experience in IT architecture, with at least 10 years specializing in orchestration solutions.

· Proven track record of leading large-scale orchestration projects and designing complex IT solutions.

· Expertise in orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible, Puppet, or similar.

· Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid cloud environments.

· Proficiency in programming and scripting languages (Python, Java, Shell scripting).

· Certifications in relevant orchestration technologies (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator, Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation).

· Experience with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Git).

· Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization.

Business Hour

· Normal Business hours. The expectation would be to start late and cover EST time until 12 PM. Exception subject to manager permission.

Job Type

· Hybrid Working: Minimum 4 days from office Monday to Thursday. Friday is flexible but in case of business need and high demand, the manager may request to be present in the office.
