The Opportunity

Software category is responsible to manage and deliver contracts pertaining to Apps and 3rd party software’s. Role is also responsible to provide market information on Enterprise vendors and work closely with Category lead to build strategy to deliver savings and compliance.


Applies foundation of a function's principles, theories and concepts to assignments of wider procurement delivery scope. Uses professional concepts and knowledge acquired through specialized training, education or previous experience. Develops expertise and practical knowledge of applications within business environment. Acts as team leader by providing information, analysis and recommendations in support of team efforts. Works on assignments that are highly complex in nature where a strong degree of independent judgment, initiative and technical knowledge are required to resolve problems. Work is completed independently and has ability to handle most unique situations


You are great at :


Responsible for sourcing software category management, competitive bidding activities, contract administration, category management support. Timely ordering, delivery and inventory management of goods and services to support business operations
Collect and understand software requirements from the business perspective (scope, timeline, and budget)
Facilitate Software supplier selection process through RFx or competitive bidding process
Lead supplier selection and onboarding activities, including competitive bidding, supplier negotiations and vendor management activities. Is sufficiently experienced in (Canadian/US/UK) contract law to independently identify and suggest alternative contractual term positions before engaging with internal Legal teams to reach eventual contract outcome
Use appropriate system of records, monitoring, tracking and maintaining overall program, process and system compliance
Build and manage relationship with key stakeholders to provide strategic insights on business needs and deliver high performance cost savings opportunities
Management of key software contract, monitor key contract metrics and develop contract corrective action by working closely with Legal and other Corporate functions.
Proactively work with the business, client or project partners to identify and executive cost optimization in the software category
Management of existing software contract and SOW’s; annual renewal and maintenance of software contract
Identify potential cost savings opportunities on software renewals.
Gather market intelligence and build category strategy in discussion with stakeholders and category lead
Effectively manage supplier relationship globally
Quarterly business review with strategic suppliers
Leverage existing supplier base for effective procurement
Gather feedback from stakeholders for supplier performance management
Cross team co-ordination involving working closely with business teams, finance & supplier
Ability to support sourcing activities for IT Hardware and other procurement categories – all within a flexible team resourcing matrix
What it takes:

First level university degree or equivalent experience. A masters degree is a plus
Typically 10-12 years of experience in procurement or supply chain function:
Experience in global procurement managing IT category is must
Proven record of delivering savings
Exposure to local supplier base and having worked with large IT vendors is must
Candidate should also have exposure to Hardware commodity as secondary responsibility
Should have experience working with IT vendors in building global model

Excellent communication skills, Mastery in English; Knowledge of any European language is a plus
Expertise in MS office analyzing spend
Expert understanding of procurement policies and delivering underlying savings
Developed analytical and technical aptitude
SAM or IPSCM/CPSCM is desired
Works across multiple countries and businesses on an extensive basis.
