Job Description
SOUTHLAND Transportation is seeking dedicated School Bus Monitors to join our team! School Bus Monitors assist the bus driver during the trip to and from school each day by supervising the activity of, and caring for, children with varying special needs. This may include loading, securing, and unloading children in wheelchairs.
This position is an on-call basis, and each shift is 1.5 hours to 3 hours between Monday to Friday. Routes typically fall between the hours of 6:00 am - +:00 am and 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm.
Requirements
Ability to communicate effectively
Patience in dealing with student disruptions
Physical ability to load, secure, and unload children in wheelchairs and car seats (training provided)
Experience in childcare considered an asset
Clear Criminal Record
Vulnerable sector check, upon hire (reimbursed by SOUTHLAND)
Wage
$17.31 per hour
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $17.31 per hour
Schedule:
Day shift
Monday to Friday
No weekends
