• Utilize specialized teaching techniques and assistive technologies to support students' learning and accessibility.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
• Monitor and track student progress, collect data, and regularly assess and report on students' academic and behavioral performance.
• Implement behavior management strategies and create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social-emotional development and student engagement.
• Provide support and guidance to students in developing essential life skills, including self-advocacy, problem-solving, and independent learning.
• Stay updated on best practices, research, and legal requirements in special education to ensure compliance and deliver effective instruction.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field (such as Education with a specialization in Special Education).
• Relevant certifications in Special Education or eligibility to obtain required certifications based on local regulations.
• Knowledge of different learning disabilities, behavioral disorders, and other special education needs.
• Experience in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
• Familiarity with various teaching strategies, assistive technologies, and adaptive resources for students with special needs.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and external professionals.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with diverse learning needs.
• Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes equity, respect, and social-emotional growth.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills to maintain accurate records and progress reports.
