Job Description
We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Special Educator to join our ICSE school. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychology and special education, with experience working with students who have diverse learning needs. This role requires a dedicated professional who can create an inclusive learning environment and provide tailored support to students with various learning disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess the learning needs of students with disabilities and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) to address their specific challenges.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with learning disabilities in both one-on-one and group settings.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify and adapt curriculum materials to meet the needs of students with learning disabilities.
- Conduct regular evaluations to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
- Work closely with parents, teachers, and other stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to the student's development.
- Report to the Head Office and Principal, keeping them informed of student progress, challenges, and any necessary interventions.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in special education and incorporate best practices into the teaching process.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to school-wide initiatives for inclusive education.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Psychology with a B.Ed in Special Education or a Diploma in Special Education.
- Experience working in a school setting, particularly with students who have learning disabilities.
- Strong understanding of various learning disabilities and the strategies to support students with these challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students reach their full potential.
