Job Description:
• Experience in Database administration activities like Installation, Slipstream Installation, Configuration, Backup & Recovery, database security, troubleshooting the MSI and MSP files missing and SQL Server Performance.
• Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems with on call support on a rotational basis.
• Security management to maintain and protect/secure db's.
• Experience in SYSPREP SQL Server installation in production servers & Non-prod servers.
• Experience in creating of logins, user administration, data file shrink operations.
• Hands on experience in creation of DB Mail configuration on various Production and Non-prod servers.
• Hands on Experience in VERITAS Net Backup, COMMVAULT and EMC Networker for SQL online Backups and restorations.
• Implementation of Log Shipping, Clustering and Hands on Experience with AlwaysOn high availability on WSFC.
• Hands on with Linked Servers(SQL to SQL & SQL to Oracle) from remote SQL Server and other Data sources from SQL server ODBC connectors.
• Experience in working with SQL Server Up gradation, SQL Server Migration and SQL Server Patching.
• Experience in creating clustered/Non-clustered Indexes and creation of Maintenance plans for the Index Rebuild and Reorganize, Backup maintenance plans, update statistics, Checking database integrity.
• Work exposure on Windows Fail over cluster with multi nodes/Multiple SQL Instances on Cluster database systems.
• Working with Always On availability on WSFC with multi-Nodes, configuring AO Groups, AO listener and Read routing configuration.
• Having experience in SSIS & SSRS, Azure—Scheduling Jobs.
• Working with DMV'S and DMF'S in retrieving the information from the server.
• Monitor system's health and performance, ensure high levels of performance applications, availability, sustainability, security, Analyze and resolve issues in real time env.
• Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement.
• Proactively monitor SQL Server maintenance tasks, troubleshoot job issues and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Create, modify, and optimize SQL Server Agent jobs and maintenance plans.
• Make system design recommendations according to Microsoft SQL Server best practices.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and support, release deployment activities after hours.
• Hands-on experience with HA/DR feature like ALWAYS ON, Windows OS cluster, Mirroring ,Log shipping, Replication systems.
• Deploy, manage , access management, and troubleshoot issues for SQL server features like SSIS,SSAS and SSRS
Desired skills:
• Apply data modelling techniques to ensure development.
• Independently analyze & resolve and fix issues in a real time env and provide end-end solution.
• Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
• Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
• Good to have additional skills Sybase/MySql/ProgressDB/PostGreSql/MonGoDB
