The ideal candidate becomes a key contributor in building AVANA’s small business lending and investor platforms that provide efficient ways to access investment opportunities and serve entrepreneurial borrowers. The opportunity will contribute to creating innovative solutions to our borrower and investor communities. The individual accomplishes significantly by maintaining database administration, data validation, database maintenance, database planning and development, and optimizing data on our integrated technology platforms. The desired outcome from these actions intersects with:
• LendThrive platform to support entrepreneurs across the US with small business loans
• Enabling borrowers with multiple loan specific benefits such as no hidden fees and penalties
• Borrowers to access commercial real estate capital to expand their business
• EqualSeat platform by creating opportunities for individual investors
• Enabling investors to several investments and receive monthly cash with reliable periodic returns
• And significant impact on other future AVANA Companies’ products
B. Responsibilities and Targeted Accomplishments
As an expert Database Developer and Administrator, you will come with deep technical knowledge and be responsible for database design, coding, development and maintenance of RDBMS / no SQL databases. Our work is highly agile and offers many chances to strengthen technical capabilities and learn advanced techniques. As an expert, you will be part of the core engineering team that focuses on building world class products.
• As the Database Administrator:
• you will be responsible for monitoring day to day database systems in terms of operations and management
• Proactively respond to production infrastructure alerts and warnings, mitigate production issues as they arise and transform incident lessons into automation, documentation and monitoring
• Diagnose any database issues and employ measures to prevent recurrence
• Proficient working knowledge on various data model toolkits
• Actively participate in our Scrum process: Standups, Refinements, Planning, Retrospectives, Demos
• Quick learner and ability to pick up any new backend technologies, as per the requirements of our new projects
• As the SQL Developer:
• you will need to develop and provide any day-to-day ad-hoc reporting requirements for other departments
• You will have to work with our development team to design and develop all backend coding requirements, for all of our ongoing development projects
• You will have to maintain all our existing backend codes
• Automate the daily task and complex problem to build the team proficiency
C. Core Values & Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering or Information Technology or Computer Engineering or related field of study
• Minimum 5 years of experience in various RDBMS system esp. MS SQL Servers
• Exceptional knowledge of both MSSQL and other DB tools with associated technical configurations
• Strong hands-on experience on MSSQL / other database engines
• Knowledge of NoSQL datastores (e.g. MongoDB) and other data structure (e.g. GraphDB) is definitely a plus.
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity, performance, blocking and deadlocking, connectivity, security issues, etc.
• Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization using native monitoring, Query optimization, index tuning and troubleshooting tools
• Ability to detect and troubleshoot database servers related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space, and other resource contention.
• Strong knowledge in D-Graph, PostGre, SQL Server, SQL – Azure, Database development
• Strong knowledge of how indexes, index management, integrity checks, configuration, patching
• Knowledge / Experience of Cloud Services such as AWS and RDS, Azure, GCP
• Deep problem-solving abilities and analytical skills to resolve ambiguous requirements
• Attention to detail and quality, and the ability to work well in and across teams
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and multi-national environment
