Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate accounting and a thorough understanding of financial principles, including GAAP and SOX compliance. This role involves overseeing the financial reporting process, managing accounts payable and receivable, and providing mentorship to junior accounting staff. The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of financial statements and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to maintain accurate records.
Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries and accrual accounting.
Perform cash flow analysis and forecasting to support financial planning.
Ensure compliance with SOX regulations and other relevant securities laws.
Assist in budgeting processes and financial management activities.
Provide mentorship to junior accountants, fostering professional growth within the team.
Prepare regulatory reports as required by governmental agencies.
Conduct audits to ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies.
Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero, or similar tools for efficient financial management.
Skills
Strong knowledge of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and financial report writing.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
Experience with non-profit accounting principles is a plus.
Familiarity with public accounting practices and private equity is advantageous.
Excellent analytical skills for financial analysis and cash flow management.
Ability to interpret complex financial reports and provide insights for decision-making.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate account reconciliation.
Knowledge of payroll processing, tax experience, and auditing practices is beneficial.
