Sr| Accountant

Mission The Senior Accountant will play an invaluable role by driving accounting accuracy and efficiency, as well as developing process improvements in an organization providing leading media brands with software and services that are transforming the way video content is being delivered to their viewers. This person must demonstrate experience in accounting and finance, ideally obtained within a similar industry, and have experience of US GAAP. The Senior Accountant will be directly responsible for accounting entries, the month end close, and assisting with group-wide financial projects and reporting. Job Description Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Senior Accountant is expected to be a critical member of the finance team, with responsibilities around month end and ensuring that day to day finance processes are conducted seamlessly and accurately. Key Responsibilities Include • Own the transactional accounting processes for Backlight group • Manage month end accounting entries, including cash, prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, and other accounting areas • Assist with the review and reconciliation of cash accounts • Assist AP Accountant with coding and expense review • Actively contribute to process development to ensure efficiency in finance and accounting activities • Prepare supporting schedules for balance sheet reconciliations and monthly financial reviews • Assist with month-end/year-end closing, as well as audits and compliance filings • Evaluate and recommend process changes to improve controls and efficiency Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance • Minimum of 3 years accounting experience in general accounting • Experience working in a fast paced, global, rapidly growing team • Ability to work independently on regular routine assignments, including managing time and meeting critical deadlines • Ability to perform work to a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail • Strong work ethic and flexibility to work extended hours during critical periods such as quarter-end and year-end • Strong Microsoft Excel skills • Evaluate and recommend process changes to improve controls and efficiency • Own the preparation of certain monthly corporate accounting tasks • Experience with NetSuite is desirable but not required • Written and verbal communication skills in English Additional Information This is a chance for you to accelerate your career and succeed in an environment where you will have the possibility to make a daily impact.
