Position Summary
Ava is seeking to hire a full-time Sr Associate, Accounting & Finance, reporting to the Director of Accounting & Controller. Ava is looking for a candidate to support day-to-day financial operations by assisting with payments, treasury reporting, expense tracking, and data updates, while helping maintain accurate records and contributing to basic reporting and budgeting processes.
Position Details
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Treasury management and account monitoring to ensure completeness, accuracy, and that sufficient balances are maintained to meet operating needs.
Cash and line of credit collateral tracking, management, and scheduling.
Perform monthly custodian cash reconciliations.
Ensure timely payment and approvals of partner vendor bills via the operating and custodian accounts along with monthly deficit/surplus calculations and reporting.
Update various prepay databases to support reporting and forecasting.
Manage accounts receivable and collections for Ava borrowers.
Manage Ramp, including input of Purchase Orders, new user setup, coding of credit cards and expense reimbursements, and ensuring all vendor bills received are entered for payment.
Serve as the primary financial partner to program managers. This includes providing program-level financial reporting and dashboards; developing, monitoring, and maintaining program budgets; and collecting & updating program and portfolio-level data models.
Update budgeting models and help with external reporting as needed.
Other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience in finance or accounting
A broad understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and knowledge of both finance and business operations is required.
Accounting and/or finance experience in government, utilities, or energy industry is preferred.
Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
Ability to work independently on projects with minimum supervision.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Working knowledge of basic software programs including Microsoft Office applications.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary for this position is $141,288, with a Total Compensation of up to $152,591 annually based on performance.

Location and Working Conditions
This position will be based in Ava headquarters in Oakland, near BART. Ava's team has a hybrid approach inclusive of in-office and remote work. This role is expected to go into the office Tuesdays, Thursdays and the first Wednesday of the month.
