About the Job
Featured We are seeking a highly skilled Senior MySQL Database Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the setup, configuration, and maintenance of MySQL databases over the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The Senior MySQL DBA will work closely with our development and infrastructure teams to ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of our databases. Core Responsibilities
• Design, install, configure, and maintain MySQL databases over GCP
• Optimize database performance by analyzing and tuning SQL queries and database parameters
• Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve issues before they become critical
• Install and maintain the performance of database servers.
• Develop processes for optimizing database security.
• Set and maintain database standards.
• Manage database access.
• Install, upgrade, and manage database applications.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors.
• Recommend and implement emerging database technologies.
• Create automation for repeating database tasks.
• Be available for on-call support as needed.
• Work to create a consistent and repeatable database migration process through all environments.
Required Skills
• Good Experience with MYSQL /MariaDB 5.0+
• Good Experience and exposure with Vertica SQL and PostgreSQL
• Good Experience with Database Cluster
• Good working experience with Linux
• Good experience with MongoDB
• Having good exposure with Cloud SQL
• Experience with PHP or Python or Bash Scripting
• Experience with On-Call support
Qualifications
• B-Tech or M-Tech in Computer Science or related field
• At least 7 years of experience as a MySQL DBA in a high-availability production environment
• Expertise in designing, installing, configuring, and maintaining MySQL databases over GCP
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
