Job Overview
Job Title: Tech Team Lead & Laravel + CodeIgniter (3 & 4) Developer (Remote, Contract)
Location: Remote (Singapore Time Zone for first 4 months, then flexible)
Job Type: Full-time, 10-month contract
Language Requirement: Fluent English (Written & Spoken)
About the Role:
We’re looking for an experienced PHP Developer with deep expertise in Laravel & CodeIgniter 3 & 4 to lead client tech team, resolve bugs, and develop critical new features. You’ll be the backbone of our back-end development while also wearing multiple hats—database optimization, caching, schema design, front-end tweaks, and more.
As a startup, we need someone adaptable, who thrives outside their comfort zone, learns quickly, and builds scalable solutions. If you love tackling diverse technical challenges and leading a team, this role is for you!
Key Responsibilities:
Back-End Development:
• Design, develop, and maintain server-side logic & databases in Laravel & CodeIgniter 3 & 4.
• Optimize database schemas, write efficient SQL queries, and ensure seamless data handling.
• Build RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services.
• Enforce security best practices to protect against vulnerabilities.
• Maintain repositories via Git/GitLab/GitHub with daily updates after staging tests.
Code Quality & Maintenance:
• Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot, and debug issues.
• Write clean, documented, and maintainable code.
• Test applications rigorously for functionality, performance, and security.
• Stay updated on emerging web technologies and best practices.
• Team Leadership & Collaboration:
• Lead and mentor a small team, including:
• Manage tasks while ensuring smooth team coordination.
Qualifications:
✅ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT (or equivalent experience).
✅ Proven expertise in Laravel & CodeIgniter 3 & 4.
✅ Strong experience with MySQL and query optimization.
✅ Skilled in RESTful API design & integration.
✅ Proficient with Git/GitLab/GitHub.
✅ Solid grasp of web security best practices.
✅ Strong problem-solving & debugging skills.
✅ Excellent communication & teamwork abilities.
✅ Self-driven—can manage multiple tasks independently.
