Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Economic, Finance or Mathematics, an MBA, or a law degree
Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting and/ or finance with 5 years’ experience in tax compliance, tax provision, tax research and planning
Track record of problem solving and strong with numbers
The individual is required to follow all applicable safety precautions

Responsibilities
The Tax Advisor will assist in various tax functions including the preparation of the income tax compliance and tax provisions
The position will work with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance, to assist with tax planning, improve tax processes and facilitate other tax projects as needed
The Tax Advisor will work in our Houston Corporate office and may work two (2) days a week remotely
Prepare and assist international, federal, state and local income tax returns
Assist in the preparation of the quarterly and annual tax provisions
Assist with diverse oil & gas tax matters including tax partnerships, state tax matters, and tax depreciation and depletion
Assist with tax research on various oil and gas tax matters
Assist with other tax related matters (Transfer Pricing, special project, Expat tax, etc.)
Work is performed almost entirely in a controlled (i.e., inside) environment and does not typically subject the incumbent to any hazardous/ extreme elements some positions may require regularly moving or transporting items weighing up to 25 lbs

• Assist with tax research on various oil and gas tax matters

Assist with other tax related matters (Transfer Pricing, special project, Expat tax, etc.)

Licenses/ Certifications

CPA preferred

Desired/Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree in accounting, J.D., MBA, or similar degree
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong individual contributor with a proven track record
• Big 4 experience, corporate in-house, law firm, or multinational upstream oil and gas experience preferred
• Experience with Consolidated US tax returns, Corptax tax compliance software, Excel and tax research projects a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work with complex data
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Foreign language skills a plus
