Job Description
To be successful as a senior accountant, you should have a solid working knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong financial analysis skills. An outstanding senior accountant should also possess strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and be able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure.
Responsibilities
Work with clients based in the US.
Record and verify day-to-day financial transactions
Bring the books to the trial balance stage
Perform partial checks of the posting process
Enter data, maintain records, and create reports and financial statements
Process accounts receivable/payable and handles payroll in a timely manner
Prepare journal entries, bank recs, payables, receivables, etc.
Prepare financial statements
Assist with Fiscal Audit
Performing other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned.
Oversee a team of 3-5 accountants in 6-12 months.
Qualifications/Skills
2-3 years experience at the minimum. ( If experience with non-profits in the USA is a plus)
Experience working with US-based clients is a must.
Excellent English communication skills
Team player
Quick learner
Proficiency in Excel ( Advanced), Word, QuickBooks, SAGE-Intact, and multiple accounting software packages a plus
Self-starter who will be expected to complete work with a limited supervisory interface
Ability to meet assigned deadlines
Highly detail-oriented and organized in work
Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration, CMA, CA, CPA
Pursuing CPA candidates would be preferred
