Job Summary:
As a key member of the accounting team, the Staff Accountant will primarily be responsible for the oversight of payables, grants, and expenses, including assisting with reconciliation of general ledger accounts, related journal entries, and audit preparation.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Preparation and oversight of Accounts Payable and Grants.
• Oversight and Reconciliation of credit card expense tracking and reporting.
• Accounting for and Reconciliation of Prepaid Expenses.
• Accounting for and Reconciliation of Fixed Assets and Depreciation.
• Preparation of Quarterly Fees and related inter-account transfers.
• Assist in Daily Monitoring of bank activity and cash positions.
• Assist with numerous bank reconciliations.
• Assist accounting team with quarterly and annual closing.
• Assist in preparation of annual 10++s.
• Prepare audit schedules prior to annual audit.
• Serve as backup to other accounting department staff.
• Assist Accounting Manager with various projects as needed.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Functional knowledge of general financial accounting processes, including cost accounting.
• Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel (including Pivot Tables) and Outlook.
• Ability to work independently as well as thrive in a team environment.
• Self-motivated and ability to take ownership of projects.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, or experience in lieu of education.
• At least three years of related experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
