Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profits and losses, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Performs general accounting and other related duties for the organization.
• Assists in preparing monthly financials statements: balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements.
• Maintains and reconciles the supporting amortization schedules for Fixed Assets, Goodwill, Prepaid Expenses, and ROU assets. Responsible for developing and recording recurring journal entries.
• Maintains and reconciles the supporting schedules for AP and Accrued Expenses. Responsible for developing and recording monthly journal entries.
• Supports the AP Specialist by verifying and/or completing payment of invoices through the AP process and ensuring invoices are charged to the appropriate accounts.
• Manages company credit card transactions and responsible for accurately recording expenses.
• Manages employee expenses and works with payroll on timely reimbursements.
• Tracks and manages renewals of internally used software.
• Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
• Upholds company policies by following accepted practices and procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
• Advanced excel skills and practical experience.
• Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Experience with ConnectWise and Business Central preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.
• Ability to adhere to the EST workday schedule.
• Ability to work proactively, independently, or as part of a team.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree - Accounting, or related field required.
• At least three years of related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
