Job Description
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GAAP, ERP systems, Accounts Payable & Receivable, Account Reconciliation, variances, physical inventory, Auditing, Microsoft Excel, month-end closings, and financial analysis
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Experience with ERP systems
Familiarity with financial accounting statements
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations
Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles
Accuracy and attention to detail
Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience with physical inventory and auditing processes

Responsibilities
This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated individual to take on a role with a broad range of responsibilities
The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the financial health of our organization by managing daily accounting tasks and ensuring our financial data is accurate and up to date
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, coordination and completion of annual audits, and reviewing financial reports/support as necessary
Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies
Analyze financial information and summarize financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports
Participate in financial standards setting and in the forecast process
Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
Assist with tax audits and tax returns
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Conduct regular ledger maintenance
Assist in the preparation of monthly and yearly closings
Aid in the implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines
Provide input into department's goal setting process
Prepare documentation for external auditors

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Staff Accountant to join our thriving finance team.
