Job description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing team on a temporary basis, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions, with a focus on financial reporting, supporting independent audits, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Support the preparation and coordination of annual independent audits.
Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulations.
Perform financial analysis and assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations.
Support internal controls and assist with audit documentation and compliance.
Maintain accurate financial records and assist with tax filings.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements for management.
Work closely with other departments to support financial operations and improve processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) preferred.
Experience in accounting or auditing, with familiarity in preparing for independent audits.
Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Experience working under an LLC structure is preferred.
Candidates with their own tax or business entity for receiving non-W2 compensation are preferred.
Additional Skills:
Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and work cross-functionally.
Self-starter with the ability to operate efficiently under minimal supervision.
Knowledge of tax regulations and ability to assist with tax preparation a plus.
