Staff accountants are responsible for a broad range of activities, including preparing and reviewing financial information for the company, its affiliates, and financial products. Staff accountants will be tasked with ensuring proper recording of revenue and expense recognition, account reconciliations, budgeting activities, and assisting with the daily financial operations of the company.
The staff accountant will assist with audit, compliance work and research, and implement appropriate accounting methodologies based on United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
The position is essential for maintaining accurate financial data, managing contractual and operating obligations, assisting in regulatory and tax compliance activities, and providing timely information to the company’s management for day-to-day decision-making.
To thrive, you should have:
• Four-year degree in accounting.
• A minimum of 2+ years experience in the financial services industry and a strong working knowledge of US GAAP and tax regulations.
• Critical success factors include the ability to work independently, strong problem-solving and research abilities, and advanced skills with Microsoft Office.
• Experience operating Microsoft Dynamics GP is preferred. Experience with portfolio accounting systems such as Orion or Addepar is encouraged.
This challenging position will report directly to senior management. CPA accreditation is encouraged but not required. A background check is required.
