Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Staff Accountant for our manufacturing company. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with budget and close processes, conducting internal audits, and maintaining accounts payable documentation. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, especially the ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets using pivot tables and Vlookup functions is a must.
Responsibilities
• Prepare financial statements and analysis.
• Analyze and report on financial status including reports on revenue, profit, margins, variances, and trends.
• Conduct regular ledger maintenance.
• Assist in month-end and year-end close processes.
• Assist with tax audits and tax returns.
• Develop and document business processes to adhere to company guidelines.
• Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures.
• Use strong spreadsheet skills to prepare and analyze large data sets in Excel using pivot tables and Vlookup functions.
• Validate and process accounts payable and receivable requests.
• Handle internal audit procedures and ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Participate in the budgeting process.
Requirements
Requirements:
• Proven work experience as a Staff Accountant or relevant role.
• Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, tax, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, specifically pivot tables and Vlookups.
• Understanding of data analysis and forecasting.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under strict deadlines.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or in a related field.
• Possess excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
