Aperto Property Management, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Staff Accountant to join our corporate team in Irvine, CA. This position is ideal for a recent graduate with a degree in Accounting or Finance who is ready to begin their career in property management accounting. The Staff Accountant will support the Senior Staff Accountants in managing a regional property portfolio and assist with Accounts Payable functions, as well as various accounting projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Reconcile multiple bank accounts, including tracking and recording interest and fees.
Record and monitor all subsidy payments, ensuring accurate allocation and timely communication with site staff.
Maintain accuracy of general ledger data and assist with month-end close processes.
Support analysis of balance sheet accounts, income statement trends, and budget variances.
Prepare quarterly reserve withdrawal packages for lender approval and submission.
Track daily cash receipts and manage non-sufficient funds (NSFs).
Assist in preparing monthly distribution requests.
Work collaboratively with Senior Accountants on special projects.
Manage a small portfolio of properties independently, with appropriate support and guidance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Exposure to Yardi Voyager or similar property management/accounting software is preferred.
Prior experience in property management accounting is a plus,but not required.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and grow in the role.
