Job Description
Our client, a leader in innovation and world-class manufacturer, is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with a focus on Accounts Receivable to join their team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll manage the full AR cycle, including invoicing, collections, reconciliations, credit memos, and cash application. You’ll work cross-functionally with operations, logistics, and production teams to ensure accuracy, resolve issues, and support the month-end close process. This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a manufacturing environment, brings a strong customer service mindset, and enjoys collaborating across departments.
Responsibilities:
• Perform day-to-day AR processing, including general journals, sales entries, collections, and account maintenance
• Prepare domestic and international customer invoices; maintain the Accounts Receivable subsidiary ledger
• Process and review credit memos, account adjustments, cash applications, and collections
• Partner with internal teams (operations, shipping, customer service, etc.) to ensure invoice accuracy, cutoff compliance, and proper analysis
• Provide customer service support, including resolving discrepancies, short payments, and collection issues
• Monitor and maintain small balance write-offs and customer reconciliations
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of customer statements and follow-up on past-due invoices
• Serve as a hands-on, effective user of ERP system modules relevant to AR activities
• Assist Accounts Payable with matching checks to bills for signature and mailing
• Perform general accounting administration tasks (filing, scanning, copying, word processing, etc.)
• Prepare bank reconciliations for multiple accounts
• Prepare payroll journal entries for manager review
• Complete customer credit inquiry forms as requested
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Controller or CFO
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Minimum 7–10 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong technical skills in account reconciliations and month-end close responsibilities
• Excellent planning and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong problem analysis and resolution skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in high-performance teams
