POSITION OVERVIEW
Alchemy 43 is seeking a highly detail-oriented and self-motivated Staff Accountant to support our growing finance function. Reporting to the Controller, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing daily accounting operations, assisting with month-end close, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This is a hands-on role that requires a proactive team player with a strong understanding of GAAP and a passion for process improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
Prepare and process payroll, commissions, and bonuses using third-party payroll providers
Support month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements
Manage the processing of cash receipts and revenue, and reconcile with operations team data
Reconcile all bank reconciliations and credit card activities
Manage monthly inventory counts and reconcile monthly inventory valuation in the general ledger
Work with manufacturer to ensure timely receipt of rebates and ensure proper recordation to the inventory subledger
Maintain accurate records of financial transactions in accordance with GAAP
Assist in development and documentation of internal accounting policies and procedures
Ensure compliance with internal controls and support external audits as needed
Analyze cash flows and maintain adequate balances in all accounts
Utilize tools like QuickBooks and Bill.com to manage accounting tasks efficiently
Respond to internal and external accounting inquiries and provide ad hoc reporting as needed
Perform other duties, special projects, or initiatives as assigned by executive leadership, including those outside the scope of this job description, as needed to support the evolving priorities of the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of progressive accounting or bookkeeping experience
Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel; while not required proficiency in Zenoti helpful
Experience in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment preferred
Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting best practices
Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally
High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive financial information
PAY
Annual salary range of $60,000-$75,000 DOE
