Job Description
A well-established nonprofit organization dedicated to serving individuals with special needs seeks a detail-oriented and analytical finance professional to oversee critical financial functions and ensure smooth payroll operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee bi-monthly payroll processing and supervise the payroll coordinator.
Ensure compliance with payroll taxes, workers' compensation reports, and quarterly filings.
Daily cash reporting and bank reconciliations.
Manage general accounting duties, A/P reviews, and financial reporting.
Assist in funding allocation reporting to the state.
Think critically about process improvements and implement better financial systems where needed.
Collaborate with billing teams and maintain clear financial documentation for audits and grant reporting.
Requirements
4-5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit or public sector environment.
Strong Excel and computer skills to manage reporting and reconciliations.
Ability to think critically and suggest improvements in financial processes.
Experience with general ledger accounting.
Experience with payroll and compliance reporting preferred.
A self-starter who is organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in nonprofit finance, grant reporting, and state funding allocations.
Familiarity with district funding and compliance requirements.
