Staff Accountant
Profile Wine Group, one of Canada’s premier wine and spirit agencies is currently seeking an Experienced Accountant to manage our day to day financial and accounting requirements. The successful candidate will be a team player, showcasing a proven understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and a strong ability to compile and interpret financial data using advanced spreadsheet functionality.
Core Responsibilities:
· Manage the day to day accounting requirements
· Preparation of various accounting reports and related analyses
· Maintain general ledger and post journal entries
· Bank and general ledger account reconciliations
· Monthly government remittances. HST, WSIB, Payroll Source Deductions
· Year-end payroll, WSIB, EHT reconciliations
· Process accounts payables, receivables, bi-weekly payroll
· Monitor cash levels and process international wire payments
· Process payment of credit card statements and employee expenses
· Preparation of monthly and year-end closing files
· Support external accountant’s period-end activities and requirements
Education & Experience:
· Post-Secondary education in accounting studies
· Minimum of 3-5 years progressive accounting experience
· In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and full cycle accounting
Skills/Competencies
· Must have excellent knowledge of QuickBooks, MS Office with above average Excel skills
· Highly motivated self-starter with strong planning and organizational skills
· Above average analytical skills, follow through , and attention to detail
· Ability to multi-task and succeed in a fast paced and demanding environment
