BA/BS or equivalent experience in Accounting
1+ years of accounting and/or SEC reporting experience (including Big 4, global company, or SEC internships)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Diligent, ability to multi-task, and meet deadlines!
Strong MS Excel skills (i.e
VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.)
Master’s or equivalent experience in Accounting
CPA license or track
Experience with Oracle, Workiva, WDesk or XBRL
Prior experience with Big 4, global company, or the SEC
Responsibilities
This is a key position on the team that assists in the preparation of results and supporting analysis for our external reporting with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
In this position, you will participate in aspects of financial reporting, technical accounting, and consolidations and gain experience as we navigate this fast-growing and evolving e-commerce industry
You will be an integral part of an outstanding reporting team by promoting partnership, innovation, and business expertise
Assist in the preparation of disclosures and related support for quarterly and annual financial filings with the SEC
Play a meaningful role in preparing financial documents and other financial reporting results to support Team Members on a periodic, quarterly, and annual basis
Assist in preparing periodic, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial documents under US GAAP
Assist with establishing, updating, and detailing technical accounting policies, practices, and procedures under US GAAP
Support business decisions with financial information and analysis
Assist in the preparation of year-end and quarter-end audit schedules; collaborate closely with internal and external auditors
Ensure compliance with internal controls over key financial reporting processes
Provide accounting support to various business partners across the organization
Participate in other projects and ad-hoc analyses and reports

We at Chewy seek a hard-working SEC Staff Accountant to join our growing Financial Reporting team based out of our Plantation, FL headquarters! This is a key position on the team that assists in the preparation of results and supporting analysis for our external reporting with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). In this position, you will participate in aspects of financial reporting, technical accounting, and consolidations and gain experience as we navigate this fast-growing and evolving e-commerce industry. What You'll Do:
