Staff Accountant (Part-Time)
Reports To: Director of Finance
We’re looking for a Part-Time Staff Accountant to support our Director of Finance and growing team in the luxury footwear and apparel space. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, takes pride in accuracy, and values being part of a brand with purpose.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Process and manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including vendor invoicing, customer billing, and payment reconciliations, ensuring timely and accurate transactions
Assist in maintaining the general ledger and preparing journal entries
Support month-end and year-end close processes
Reconcile bank statements, accounts, inventory records, and cost of goods sold (COGS) in coordination with production and operations teams
Prepare financial reports and assist with budgeting and forecasting
Maintain accurate records across multiple sales channels (e-commerce, wholesale, retail)
Assist with external audits and ad hoc requests
Ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting standards, while supporting ongoing growth and process improvements
Work with other departments to ensure financial accuracy and operational alignment
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2+ years of relevant accounting experience (retail/apparel/footwear is a plus!)
Experience with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks or similar)
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets
Highly organized and detail-oriented
A collaborative team player with strong communication and time-management skills
Schedule & Location:
Approx. 20 hours/week, with potential to move into a full time role in the future.
In-person at our Santa Barbara office (Monday-Thursday), with the option to work remotely on Fridays.
