We are partnering with a client who is looking to add a Staff Accountant to the team. This role will primarily focus on various accounting support functions, including processing and recording payroll, clerical HR support, and managing various financial accounts. Responsibilities
• Oversee the preparation of bi-weekly payroll and ensure transactions are accurately recorded in appropriate accounts.
• Manage and reconcile 401(k) account, including processing 401(k) reporting and recording transactions.
• Handle annual vacation accrual reconciliation and record transactions to the correct accounts.
• Assist with clerical HR functions such as job postings, initial screenings, and new hire orientation.
• Respond to TDI, UI, and WC requests and audits.
• Prepare monthly and annual GET filings and payments.
• Support accounts payable processes including coding/entering vendor invoices and disbursements.
• Oversee reconciliation of prepaid expenses and record transactions to appropriate accounts.
• Manage and track fund spending (restricted/unrestricted) and conduct analysis.
• Provide overall support to the accounting function, including clerical tasks such as filing, scanning, mailing, and organizing files.
• Assist other departments as needed and occasionally assist with inventory and special events outside of traditional work locations.
Requirements
• Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Proven experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Proficiency in performing Bank Reconciliations
• Experience in maintaining and updating the General Ledger
• Skill in recording and processing Journal Entries
• Proficiency in using accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP
• Prior experience in managing Payroll for under 100 employees
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
• Ethical behavior when dealing with sensitive financial information
