The post holder will be responsible for the provision of skilled nursing care, within the multidisciplinary care team and specifically Rheumatology. There will be a requirement to supervise Health Care Assistants and student nurses on a day to day basis, in achieving objectives. There will be a mandatory expectation to meet competencies in Rheumatology to enable safe, autonomous running of Nurse Led Clinics.

Main duties of the job

North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Trust are seeking a motivated registered nurse who is interested in joining Centralised Outpatients Rheumatology team. The Rheumatology department provides specialist care across three sites: North Tees, Hartlepool and Peterlee. The post holder will be required to develop knowledge and skills specifically in Rheumatology but there may also be the opportunity to work as part of the team supporting other specialties e.g dermatology, women's health, lung health amongst others.

This post will include taking responsibility for the daily coordination of the of Rheumatology clinics which include infusion clinics, injection clinics and other activity in the care of patients with Rheumatological conditions. The post holder will be supported through competencies in order to develop knowledge and skills that will allow them to take responsibility and accountability in providing clinical expertise, teaching and supervision of unregistered staff and students. This post will suit a nurse who is looking for an exciting, challenging role that will provide an opportunity for further development and career progression.

It would be an advantageous if you have experience in aspects of general medicine. This is a permanent post for up to 37.5 hours per week.
