Verify the actual payment for the merchandise; distribute exact change; carry out processing of checks, credit, and debit charges following the proper departmental protocols for task operation and paperwork
Be well-versed in the operations of the Point of Sale system to manage diverse tenders, rain checks, complex loyalty programs, coupons, and checkout processes as per the organization's policies
Utilize either the scanning window by brushing it over the goods, a handheld filter, or type the information into the 10-key pad to record sales data
Familiarize yourself with the company's cash handling operations and work with honesty and efficiency to minimize any potential losses
Abide by the norms and restrictions on products that have sales restrictions, including Fireworks, Alcohol, Tobacco, and Videos
Implement measures to reduce inventory loss, like carefully examining the bottom of baskets, scanning all merchandise to ensure accurate inventory counts, refraining from manually entered sales, and following standard closing procedures
Meeting productivity benchmarks by promptly handling transactions within the allocated time
Comply with the company policy and report any pricing discrepancies promptly to ensure transparency
Be up-to-date with the present, forthcoming, celebration-related, and exclusive commercials
As part of your customer service duties, ensure that you notify customers of the different company directives, such as Kroger Personal Finance, fuel points, customer service surveys, and fundraising requests
The cleanliness of the checkout area is a top priority, and wiping down all surfaces is necessary to achieve that goal
Enhance safety standards by upholding safety protocols and procedures, and promptly alerting store management of any unsafe situations or potential safety hazards
Ensure that management is informed immediately about any accidents involving customers or employees
To ensure the safety and security of everyone, any safety hazards and illegal activities such as robbery, theft or fraud, must be reported
Comply with all policies and procedures set forth by the company, in addition to following the laws and regulations put in place by the local, state, and federal jurisdictions
It is critical to ensure the strict observance of all current rules and guidelines with regards to the proper display of merchandise, high-quality customer service, efficient cash handling, labor management, effective supply chain management, loss prevention, proper maintenance, wellbeing and food safety, desirable staff conduct, and effective customer engagement
