An opportunity has opened for a Strategic Development Officer following an internal promotion. As a key part of the Strategy and Planning team you will contribute to strategic projects, service development initiatives, and tender applications—helping ensure our services meet future community needs.
You will be responsible for providing briefings and reports to the Manager Strategy as directed relating to the external health environment and strategic development opportunities. This will include health morbidity data analysis, utilising Hardes data, and providing reports to support market analysis and service planning, including development of Clinical Service Plans.
You will also support the Manager Strategy in strategic development activities including special projects and service development opportunities, and tender applications.
The Position
Continually research and monitor the external health environment, through various news and industry feeds and monitoring of websites, providing advice and briefings to the Manager Strategy regarding changes and current issues of interest to SJGHC.
Monitor (as above) and write up a weekly health care roundup for senior executive distribution on a weekly basis.
Undertake health morbidity data analysis utilising Hardes data (available in various excel formats) and provide reports to support market analysis and service planning. Market analysis will support hospital divisions in responding to changing market conditions in which they operate. Service planning is undertaken to maximize market opportunities, with review of activity projections and modeling to assess and plan for infrastructure requirements and services development.
Support the development of Clinical Services Plans for hospitals.
Monitor tenders (through Tenderlink) that may be of interest to SJGHC in the area of service development.
Support development and submission of tender applications.
Support Manager Strategy in strategic development activities including special projects, and areas of service development including merger and acquisition opportunities.
Assist Manager Strategy in the preparation of presentations and reports, including external environment and Hardes data analysis for the SJGHC Board, senior leadership team, and hospitals as required.
Support the planning of, and facilitation of planning workshops for hospitals including services planning and operational planning.
We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical thinker with a passion for health strategy and data-informed planning. Demonstrated Ability to work in a team and the ability to develop, maintain, and monitor own work programmes (with limited supervision) to meet deadlines will be essential to this position.
To succeed you will possess a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and demonstrate an ability to undertake research and analytical activities. You will also possess the ability to write, collate and edit high quality and well researched documents.

Salary $11+,+10 to $133,183 plus 11.5% Superannuation
Permanent Full-Time position
Located at either Corporate Office - Perth CBD or Melbourne CBD
40% work from home option
