KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Student Onboarding and Orientation: Collaborate with the Admissions team to ensure a smooth and welcoming transition for new domestic and international students by coordinating orientation programs and providing ongoing support throughout their first semester.
Student Support: Provide advice to students on academic, personal, and wellbeing matters, ensuring they are aware of available services. Facilitate access to academic support, mental health resources, and wellbeing activities.
Student Progression and Retention: Support the Director of Studies in monitoring student progression in collaboration with academic and support teams, ensuring timely interventions for ELP, students at risk of not completing their studies. Facilitate regular communication and check-ins to promote student retention.
SRC Support: Provide guidance to the Student Representative Council (SRC). Assist with the coordination of SRC activities and events and liaise with other departments within the institution on behalf of the SRC to ensure successful execution of SRC initiatives.
Co-Curricular and Social Activities: Assist in organising social, academic, and career development events that enrich the student experience. This includes coordinating with academic colleagues to facilitate guest speaker sessions, workshops, and networking events.
Communication and Administration: Maintain and manage student records, ensuring they are up to date in the student administration system, including Clara and Omnivox Lea (LMS). Provide clear and timely communication to students about resources, events, and opportunities via email, campus screens, My Community, Mio, and social media.
Advisory Support: Serve as a point of contact for students seeking advice on any aspect of their academic (RPL, special consideration, etc) or campus life. Collaborate with various departments to ensure students receive comprehensive support across all areas of their university journey.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure institutional compliance with ESOS/CRICOS (e.g., Standard 6: Student Support Services) and HESF standards (Domains 2, 3, and 5), including reporting to government bodies and representing Student Experience matters to the Academic Committee and Academic Board and other management groups. Oversee the alignment of student support services with compliance requirements, and lead efforts in ensuring student wellbeing, safety, and resolution of complaints are handled according to regulatory expectations.
Campus Community: In collaboration with the other team members, provide a professional and friendly welcome to students, staff, and visitors in person and via telephone during Campus opening hours.
Other reasonable tasks as directed by the Director of Studies or Campus Director.

Planning & Organising: Ability to effectively organise tasks, prioritise competing demands, and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines. Strong administrative and project coordination skills, ensuring that student events and communications run smoothly.
Learning & Technology: Familiarity with learning management systems (e.g., Omnivox Lea) and a ‘super user’ understanding of how to utilise technology to support students. Commitment to ongoing learning and staying updated with relevant student support tools and platforms.
Self-Management: Ability to work independently and manage a variety of tasks with minimal supervision, while maintaining a calm and adaptive approach in a dynamic environment. Demonstrates initiative and responsibility in handling student queries and tasks.
Teamwork: Collaborative team player with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. Capable of working across different teams, contributing to a supportive and inclusive campus community, and fostering student engagement in both academic and co-curricular activities.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor degree in a relevant field OR equivalent combination of post-secondary school qualification with experience.
A minimum of 3 years in an equivalent role in higher education.
Current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
National Police Check.
International Police Check (if applicable).
Verification of unrestricted work rights in Australia, e.g., citizenship, visa, passport, or birth certificate.
