Architectural Job Captain

Location: Hybrid, Long Beach, CA

A highly collaborative and design-forward architecture group is seeking an experienced Architectural Job Captain to join their growing team. This is an opportunity to contribute to high-visibility commercial and retail environments while working alongside a team that values innovation, precision, and professional growth. In this role, you will play a critical part in translating design vision into fully realized construction documentation, while coordinating across disciplines and supporting multiple active projects. What You Will Do
• Lead the development and coordination of construction documents across multiple projects
• Partner closely with project architects and project managers to bring design concepts into technical execution
• Manage project documentation from early design through permitting and construction phases
• Coordinate with external consultants including civil, structural, MEP, and other disciplines
• Ensure alignment with applicable building codes, regulations, and industry standards
• Support entitlement and permitting processes, including agency submittals and responses
• Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders to maintain project momentum
• Contribute to BIM modeling efforts and maintain accuracy across design documentation
• Balance multiple project timelines and priorities in a dynamic, multi-project environment

What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in architecture or related field preferred
• Approximately 5 or more years of experience in architectural project delivery
• Background in commercial, retail, or multi-site project environments is highly valued
• Strong understanding of construction documentation, detailing, and building systems
• Proficiency in Revit and familiarity with BIM coordination workflows
• Working knowledge of building codes, permitting processes, and construction administration
• Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and manage consultant coordination
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
