Substitute Teacher
General Responsibilities: To perform duties of a teacher to provide continuity in the day to day responsibilities during the absence of the regular teacher.
Duties and Expectations
Report to the school office to pick up required materials and assignment for the day.
Carry out a program of study outlined in the lesson plans left by the classroom teacher.
Ensure adequate supervision to assure the health, welfare and safety of all students.
Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of all students.
Manage the classroom and communicate to students the standards of conduct expected.
Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses and discipline problems to the appropriate authority or as soon as is reasonably possible.
Take attendance in accordance with the school procedures.
Be positive and respectful in your interactions with students and school personnel.
Maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
Comply with the rules and expectations of the district and school.
Maintain confidentiality of all information concerning staff, students and/or parents/ guardians.
Perform all other related duties as assigned by the building administrator(s) in accordance with the school and district practices.
