We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team in Peterborough. The successful candidate will support the class teacher in delivering high-quality education to students, ensuring a positive learning environment and addressing the individual needs of pupils. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about education to contribute to the development and success of young learners. The ideal candidate should have experience working with pupils across the age groups KS2, KS3 and KS4 or has a desire to work with children between these age groups.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide support to the class teacher in lesson preparation and delivery.
• Assist with classroom management and maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Support students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, particularly those with additional learning needs.
• Help with administrative tasks such as marking and maintaining student records.
• Supervise students during break times, field trips, and other school activities.
• Promote positive behaviour and social interaction among students.
• Provide feedback to the teacher on student progress and any areas of concern.
• Support with the use of educational technology and resources in the classroom.

Qualifications & Skills:
• A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.
• Experience working with children in an educational setting across age groups KS2, KS2 and KS4, ideally as a Cover supervisor.
• Understanding of child development and learning processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage behaviour effectively and build positive relationships with students.
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with children.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable:
• Familiarity with the National Curriculum.
• Experience using educational technology or software.
