Overview
We are seeking a Sushi Chef, preferably experienced, but not required. Our restaurant consists of a sushi conveyor belt and an automated food-train delivery system, sending entrees and other items directly from the kitchen to the customers' tables. This position requires punctuality, common sense, and an intuitive understanding of Japanese Cuisine. This position also requires physical fortitude, including, but not limited to, standing for long periods of time, heavy lifting, and pecision with sharp and dangerous equipment.
Pay
All new hires must go through our training process that requires 40-80 hours (1-2 weeks) at a rate of $12 per hour, more or less if need be. Then, depending on skill and proficiency will range from $15-$25 per hour once training concludes.
Shifts are broken into 2 shifts per day:
Lunch: 10:00AM to 4:30PM (6.5 Hours)
Dinner: 4:30PM to 11:00PM (6.5 Hours)
(Note: These are approximate hours because we of our various hours of operations)
Working 'doubles' (from open to close) is also available. Employees that work 'doubles' receive 2 (two) 30-minute breaks, totally 1 (one) hour - One break before the lunch rush, and one more break before the dinner rush.
Duties
Learning and preparing a variety of different fish and other ingredients, from filleting fish to concocting various sauces
Learning and understanding our restaurant's recipes and procedures
Learning and handling our restauarnt's equipment and machinery
Learning and applying all applicabile health code regulations
Requirements
A consistent mode of transportation, attendance, and punctuality
Knowledge (or the passion to learn) food safety and health code regulations
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
