How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne…

The swimming lessons officer supports the work of the swim school team leader to grow and increase the quality of the swim school as well as programs and bookings.

The swimming lessons officer will have a strong focus on customer service, retention and engaging students within the aquatic education program. They will mentor instructors and actively engage with parents/guardians to assist the further development of students within the program.

The position undertakes various daily activities that support the day to day needs of the aquatic education program. They will be required to perform direct service delivery at reception and pool deck to actively assess existing and prospective students, to address parent/guardian concerns and to monitor the flow of the lessons and daily timetable to ensure no future issues arise. They will follow up non-attending students and liaise with the swim school team leader to support promotions and events. The position will involve the swimming lessons officer to be flexible and prepared to swim teach when an instructor is unwell at the last minute.

The role actively supports the guest experience and lifeguard teams, including direct service delivery as required across a seven-day roster.

Proven ability to lead, develop and motivate a team.
Demonstrated ability to comply with operating policies and procedures whilst positively contributing to process improvement.
Demonstrated ability to identify, set, measure and achieve specific key performance indicators required for decision making in relation to aquatic education
High level of verbal and written communication skills and experience communicating with people from diverse and CALD communities.
Advanced knowledge and capability using Perfect Gym point of sale system, including courses module, memberships (including direct debits), facility bookings and reporting
Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, with an ability to learn City of Melbourne document management systems
Must be able to commit to working across weekdays and weekends
