Job Description
The System Administrator (sysadmin) role is responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operations of computer systems. The position seeks to ensure the uptime, performance, resources and security of the systems managed. The sysadmin may also acquire, install or upgrade computer components and software, provide routine automation; maintain security policies; troubleshoot; train or supervise staff; and offer technical support.
• Goals and Objectives:
Implement new server and storage systems according to documented plans and change control processes
• Administer server and storage systems to ensure their continued operations through proactive review of application logs and system consoles
• Research warnings, errors and reported issues to determine the root cause; prepare action plans; and document, test and implement solutions
• Router Configuration Updates and VPN
• Administer Microsoft O365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive for Business.
• Respond to situation tickets in the assigned support queue in a timely and appropriate manner
• Successfully meet established situation quality measures
• Participate in the "On-Call" rotation for after-hours support
• Contribute to an atmosphere of knowledge-sharing
• Consistently meet target dates for duties and assignments
Requirements
Requirements:
• 3-5 years of experience in Help Desk or IT support position
• Bachelors Degree in computer science, information systems, and relevant experience
• A+, Network+, MCSE, MTA: Windows Server Administration Fundamentals preferred
• Strong networking knowledge
• Strong proficiency in Windows Server; proficiency in other cloud-based server environments (Azure, AWS, and WVD)
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 Email and Office Products
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows; knowledge of MacOS preferred
• Efficient problem solving / troubleshooting skills
• Energetic, pleasant and professional
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail in all things, neat and organized
• Strong time management skills to complete multiple concurrent tasks/tickets in a timely manner
• Work as a proactive team member in an office setting
• Satisfactory oral and written English communications skills
• Experience with Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory
• Experience with systems design, installation and configuration
• Experience with systems monitoring tools
